Everything you need to know about Appointly.
Appointly is a WordPress booking plugin with a unique offer workflow. Instead of automatic bookings, customers submit requests and you send personalized offers — giving you full control over pricing and scheduling.
When a customer books, their request lands in your dashboard. You review it, optionally adjust pricing, add a personal note, and send an offer email. The customer can accept or decline with one click.
Yes! The free version on WordPress.org includes unlimited services, unlimited bookings, the booking calendar, the full offer workflow (inquiry → offer → confirmation), SMTP email delivery, GDPR tools, and the Gutenberg block. Pro is an optional upgrade for extra features.
Pro (€2.99/month) adds: custom service fields with a field builder, service upsells/addons with quantity, recurring bookings (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), direct booking (auto-confirm for fixed-price services), custom branding (colors + logo across frontend and emails), a custom email template editor with live preview, blocked dates (per service or global), and customer self-cancel via secure email link. More features shipping on the roadmap.
Appointly requires WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+. It works with any standard WordPress theme.
Not yet — but it’s on the Pro roadmap. The plan is Stripe integration via your own Stripe keys (no middleman, no extra fees beyond Stripe’s standard rates), with the option to collect either a deposit or the full amount when a customer accepts your offer. We’ll announce availability on the mailing list.
Appointly uses a Gutenberg block and shortcode [booking_calendar] that works with any WordPress theme. The calendar automatically adapts to light and dark mode.
With Pro, you get a full email template editor covering all 10 templates (customer inquiry confirmation, offer, booking confirmed, decline, cancellation, plus five admin notifications). Each template has a placeholder picker and a live preview iframe that shows the rendered email with your custom branding colors and logo applied. Free users get clean default templates in their site language.
Yes. The booking calendar is WCAG AA compliant with keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and proper contrast ratios.
Install it directly from the WordPress plugin directory. Go to Plugins → Add New → Search "Appointly" → Install → Activate. A setup wizard guides you through configuration.
Yes. Pro users can block dates globally or per service — perfect for holidays, vacations, or fully booked periods.
Free users can reach us at apps@tscholene.com. Pro users get priority support with faster response times.
Appointly stores all data in your own WordPress database — nothing is sent to our servers. The plugin includes a consent checkbox for booking forms, integrates with WordPress’s built-in privacy tools (data export & erasure), uses no cookies, and encrypts sensitive credentials with AES-256-CBC. Analytics data is automatically deleted after 90 days. Read our full privacy policy for details.
